Best-selling author Susan Orlean comes to the Sunset Center on April 22 to deliver a thought-provoOing presentation to benefit the 'armel 0ibrary *oundation. S usan Orlean has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1992 and has written for major publications such as Rolling Stone , The Village Voice and the Boston Globe . Her bestselling novel “The Orchid Thief” was produced as a motion picture, “Adaptation,” starring Meryl Streep. The Library Foundation’s annual fundraiser will feature Orlean in “The American Storyteller Edition: a Life in Words” at Carmel’s Sunset Center. “It is a true honor to bring Susan Orlean to Carmel,” says Carmel Library Foundation Executive Director Alexandra Fallon. “Her abil- ity to find e\traordinary stories in ordinary places while providing profound insights is sure to captivate our audience and deliver a thought-provoking event.” The program begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 22, with general admission tickets ranging from $45 to $75 that include wine tasting, a program, book sale and signing.
