T he intimate, beautifully appointed Casa Palmero boutique hotel is adjacent to famous 17-Mile Drive and situated just steps from all the amenities of the internationally renowned Pebble Beach Resorts. With The Spa at Pebble Beach next door and the first and second fairways of Pebble Beach Golf Links across the road, the 24-room property is the ideal location for recreation like golf, tennis, water activities and fitness at The Beach & Tennis Club. “At Casa Palmero, we are fortunate to be located in one of the most cen- tral areas of Pebble Beach,” says Lara Davidson, general manager of Casa Palmero and The Spa at Pebble Beach. “The boutique property is right next to the spa, a five-minute walk from dining and shopping at The Lodge, and just another short walk away from the private Beach & Tennis Club. Our location provides the perfect balance of seclusion and access—allowing our guests to immerse themselves in all that Pebble Beach has to offer, as well as the vibrant culture and fine dining of the Monterey Peninsula. Set behind a vine-covered wall on Cypress Drive, we truly are a hidden gem.” According to Davidson, Samuel F. B. Morse, founder of Pebble Beach, required Mediterranean-style architecture for new homes built in the Del Monte Forest in the 1920s. Among those built was Casa Palmero. Its land was initially deeded to manager Carl Stanley, but when Stanley chose to reside in Carmel Valley instead, J.W. Perry, a Johns Manville executive, acquired the site and built the estate in 1927. However, after losing every- thing in the 1929 economic crash, Perry was only able to briefly enjoy the CASA PALMERO Pebbl e Beach , Ca l i f .
