Hearing that there were bobcats frequently spotted there, Frediani headed to Carmel Valley’s Palo Corona Regional Park. While hiking around, this juvenile cat sat on the trail watching her for a while, then climbed this tree. She says the extended tongue is a signal that the animal doesn’t want conflict.
