The Svalbard archipelago is home to this curious arctic fox. The photographer was on an excursion around this area when the group stopped to observe and photograph a colony of auks. One of her colleagues discovered this fox. Frediani hiked overland and was able to capture this striking image. Though she has trav- eled to many exotic locations, based in the mountains above Santa Cruz, Frediani’s keen eye often espies striking wildlife com- positions while driv- ing close to home.
