Maddie spends time in the office, of course, where she has a way of calming everyone by putting her head on people’s laps when they’re stressed out. But Maddie also gets to ride in Wayland’s yellow Bronco. “She’s my favorite car companion,” Wayland says. “Employees and passengers sit in back and Maddie has the cushy passenger seat as her throne.” Titus T wo-and-a-half-year-old Titus, a purebred golden retriev- er, is a medical response service dog belonging to Monterey Bay Aquarium Admissions Supervisor Melissa Kamnikar. “He supports me in different ways with my various health conditions,” she says. Titus is around the public all day, seeing thousands of visitors. “While he is my personal service animal and responds to my medical episodes on and off work, he’s been known to make an appearance during guest incidents, like distracting kids if a family member needs medical atten- tion.” Titus is also very friendly and loves attention. “He knows that as soon as that vest comes off, he’s fair game for love and belly scratches.” “You can always tell about somebody by the way they put their hands on an animal” ~ Betty White
